Hello Fellow Quilters,


I can't believe that March is here already and our Spring Retreat is just around the corner. I have been busy getting the mystery pattern ready for our weekend getaway. It is also time for our new class schedule, which I put on-line last night. There are some exciting new class offerings as well as repeats of some of our favorites. For beginners or even experienced quilters looking for a fun project the Allegro quilt would be a good choice as would the Make Your First Quilt Sampler class. The lovely Dresden Star is being offered again as are the Orion's Star and Day & Night classes. This time I decided it would be fun to teach a few of my own designs. So, I will be teaching Eiderdown, Bear Tracks in the Garden and Woven Logs. All three of these projects are much easier to make than they appear to be. The last two classes that I want to mention, the Layer 'em Up and Serengeti classes, feature fun techniques of stacking, cutting and shuffling your fabrics before sewing them back together. I am also thrilled to announce that we have managed to rearrange the store a bit to eke out a space in our classroom for design walls, which will make it much more fun to play with your block arrangements in class.

It's a Wrap II New Books
It's a Wrap II is the highly anticipated follow-up to the very popular It's a Wrap book. The terrific projects in this book feature clothesline that is wrapped with strips of fabric and then sewn together on your sewing machine to create wonderful bags, bowls, and more! In this new book the author shows you how to make new shapes as well how to make matching lids and even embellish your creations.


Wallet & Grommet New Patterns
I just want to mention one fun new pattern, Wallet & Grommet by Maple Island Quilts. This pattern makes a smaller bag for around town with a simple envelope style wallet for small items. The wallet is also perfect as an envelope for gift cards. The large snap together grommets add a trendy detail which is quite popular right now. If you like this one, you might also really like the Grids & Grommets pattern which also utilizes those great over-sized grommets.
